The Katsina State Hisbah Board has issued new rules for hotel operators in the state to enhance security and safeguard the community from illegal and unethical practices.

This follows the establishment and inauguration of the Katsina State Hisbah Board by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Raddah, PhD.

The board noted that some hotel owners were conducting their businesses in ways that breach regulations and community morals. As a result, the board has laid down the following rules for hotel operators:

1. All hotel operators must identify and properly document all guests checking in.

2. The Hisbah Board’s operation team will periodically verify guest documentation.

3. Accommodating minors under the age of 18 is prohibited.

4. Providing a single room for two women or girls is not allowed.

5. Hotel authorities must monitor for any drug abuse on hotel premises and report such incidents to the Hisbah Board or NDLEA.

6. Hotel owners must seek approval from the Hisbah Board before hosting any social gatherings on hotel premises.

7. Drinking or selling alcohol on hotel premises is prohibited.

8. Violating any of these rules may result in the indefinite closure of the hotel.

The board urges all hotel operators to comply with these regulations to support Hisbah in eliminating immoral practices in Katsina State.
